In the
LPK, we focus on creative potential and social skills, promoting these qualities through sensory exploration and fun. The LPK course is very similar to PPK (Preparation for Pre-kindergarten) curriculum though it is provided in a shorter 2 hour period. This class is suitable for children preparing to make the transition to a full 4 hour course and gives them the opportunity to gain confidence and independency in the absence of the parent.
This first step outside of parental care is made in a caring environment with sensitive guidance provided by our foreign teachers and Japanese assistant teachers. Some children find this step disorienting and may cry at the beginning of class for 2 or 3 months, however, we urge parents not to be discouraged at this stage as this experience will give the children the confidence required to go on to higher learning experiences. Learning English, art and craft, singing and dancing together fosters communication and cooperative skills as well as self reliance.
